Node origin retired — FastAPI on the SSD

· revised 2026-08-19 20:02:30 HST

Night of 18–19 Aug 2026 HST: Python FastAPI :8787 replaces the old Node brain. New Cloudflare tunnel/account work, D1 heartbeat, Hyperdrive to production MySQL. Spoken record on disk.

The 18 Aug 2026 primary session is the desk rebuild: home tree /home/ava-core/ava on the OptiPlex SSD, Python FastAPI as origin, old Node stack retired.

Public API names split: Ava origin, api.rootmc.net for the game, api.rootrecord.online for real-life/Kīlauea. Mixing those hostnames is how plugins get the wrong app. Android and Shockbyte jars still needed a rebuild against the new names — that ship step was still pending the next morning.

  • Runtime home locked to the SSD (see also 6 Aug SSD-home lock).
  • Heartbeat → Cloudflare D1 so status boards work when the game is quiet.
  • Pages/apps on Vercel; DNS and tunnels stay Cloudflare. No account IDs in public copy.
  • Spoken session: audio/reports/ava_session_08182026_ara.mp3 — also side session MP3 the next morning.

Report URLs: documents/reports/PRIMARY-SESSION-08182026.md and SECONDARY-SIDE-SESSION-08182026.md via the public media file API. Game players feel this as host-power Gold, not as a DNS lecture.
